Present three different selections of art and compare/contrast. Select one painting from the Vatican or Vatican Museum, select one Eastern Orthodox icon and select one Christian painting of your choice. Describe the style and symbolism found in each painting.
Use the art examples to reflect on the theological and devotional differences between the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and other Christian traditions. How do these images play a part in the worshipers’ experiences?List name of painting or icon, artist and date completed, if known. Include an image (with citation) of each of your three selections. The Individual Oral Presentation is 5-7 minutes with a minimum of seven slides, including Title, Agenda, Conclusion and References (in APA format). Use consistent text/font/format/background. Be creative and colorful! Unless clip art, ALL quotes, images and photos used must be appropriately cited UNDER/NEAR the image on the slide AND included on your References slide.  Other visual aids such as posters, photographs, video clips, or music are encouraged.  Involve audience during presentation (not just at the end!) Ask questions, use quiz/game format or handout of supplemental info as appropriate. There should be a minimum of four academic references, including textbook. Practice!
